I was interested not in an event, but in a state: the sudden loss of ground, when a person is left alone with their body, their perception, and space itself.
The protagonist has no biography or social context. She appears immediately at a point of crisis — within an industrial landscape that amplifies her vulnerability and solitude. This world is not hostile, but it is deaf: it follows its own laws of speed, noise, and movement, remaining indifferent to a human cry.
